Dear Friend,
I have spent my entire life immersed in the field of music, from performance to healing. I have sought to understand
the healing power of music and have gained much understanding. My undergraduate degree minor is in music and I have
also studied voice with the internationally known opera singer, Rachel Mathes. I went through the entire Counseling
Program at a major university and upon reaching the end (while completing my internship) realized that the rest of my
life could not abide within a counseling degree and its limitations. BUT, the one tremendous advantage I received by
completing all the academic work of the degree was gaining more understanding of people and their influencing factors of life.
Combining this understanding with the wealth of wisdom I already had in music gave me a very clear direction of how to
teach the healing power of sound and music.
The use of music to heal is a rapidly growing discipline. Although there is not a clear understanding as to
how the healing power of music works, the healing effects of music have been found and documented throughout our history.
It can be the channel to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In my opinion, we have not even scratched
the surface of the power of music!
This class will use many different aspects and genres of sound and music. We will be using sound
and music as an avenue to relieve and release physical, mental and emotional pain. My guarantee to you is that your life will
never be the same after you learn the powerful healing effects of sound.
