This CD has 13 segments of songs, the first beginning with 120 beats per minute. Each track gently slowing by 5 beats per minute until reaching 60 beats per minute. The theory behind the effectiveness of this CD is the theory of entrainment, which means that our heart rate will match the beat of a dominant sound we hear. You use the CD to lower your heart rate and possibly your blood pressure. When you feel that your heart rate is up (and most of the time, your blood pressure will be up as well) you will check your heart rate. Let's say your heart rate is 105 beats per minute. You will put the CD on the 105 track, sit back, relax and just listen to the music. As the CD gently moves from song to song, each one reducing the beats per minute by 5, your heart will align itself to the beat of each track of the CD. You will need about 20 minutes to relax with no interruptions. When the CD is finished, your heart rate should be down and chances are very good that your blood pressure will come down as well. This CD is all sacred music and a cappella.
